Jodie is on Tour!
We are excited to announce that Hoola Monster Jodie is currently on tour with Ringling Brothers Circus! In addition to hoop dancing, Jodie performs with her family's motorcycle act, The Globe of Death. She will be on tour, traveling both nationally and internationally until 2010! First up... the St. Petersburg Times. Reporter Stephanie Haynes writes, "A kicky fad of yesteryear is circling back around. It's hoola hooping, but probably not like you remember. Michelle Obama was snapped hooping at her daughter's birthday. Marisa Tomei recently visited the set of Ellen, snaking her lithe body through a pink and silver circle.
Next, we had an exciting opportunity to be featured on Good Day Tampa Bay with show host, Charley Belcher! Just days after Hip-Expressions Dance Studio opened its doors, the crew stopped in for a morning of hoop fun. Charley interviewed some students and then joined us for a hoop jam. After a brief lesson and interactive demonstration with Jodie, viewers were treated to a live, on-air performance by the Hoola Monsters!
Hoop Dance Classes in Your Neighborhood Would you like to see hoop dance classes in your area? If you know of a dance studio or gym that would be interested in adding hooping classes, please let us know. By September, we plan to offer classes throughout the Tampa Bay area! We will soon have full time hoop dance instructors on board, with daytime and weekend availabilty! All Hoola Monsters instructors are licensed and insured, and we are currently in the process of setting up our September schedule. Therefore, if you know of a large space that would be great for hooping, please send the venue name and contact information to abby@hoolamonsters.com.

Join us at sunset at the Treasure Island Drum circle on Sunday evenings. The local hooping community practices here weekly, and we always have extra hoops for people to borrow. Drop by to see for yourself what all the hoopla's about! The drum circle is located on Treasure Island beach, behind the Bilmar Hotel.
