"Our mission is to promote self-expression through the art of hoop dance. We believe that hooping affects a person’s spirit, health and well-being while simultaneously bringing happiness into the heart and soul."
Don't think you can hoola? Think again. The Hoola Monsters can teach you how to 'wow' family and friends with your super hooping skills. Our hand-made, adult sized hoops are larger and heavier than those found in stores. As a result, they move slower and are more controllable. Not only do they provide a great workout, they're also fun and easy!
So, whether you're looking to spice up your fitness routine with a little creativity or you're in the market for some engaging hoop dancers for your next party, you've come to the right place. From custom-made hoops and costumes to classes, performances, special events and more, the Hoola Monsters have got you covered. And while you're here, don't forget to check out our online store. We have some great deals on a variety of hoops, clothes and hoola gear - including our hot, new Mariposa pants!
Classes Coming Soon!
Be on the lookout, hoopers (and soon-to-be hoopers)! The Hoola Monsters will be teaching classes in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Sarasota in the very near future. We are excited to announce that Abby, Jodie and Kiyla from Hoola Monsters are bringing the HoopGirl Workout to the Tampa Bay area. The girls have just trained with professional hoop dancer, Christabel Zamor (a.k.a. HoopGirl) and are now licensed and certified instructors! The HoopGirl workout focuses on teaching others the art of hoop dance as a transformational tool of personal growth and empowerment.
If you are interested in being a part of this exciting and healthy movement of hoop dancers worldwide, please visit our 'Classes' page for more information. Hoop Dance Movie in the Works!
Hooping is getting quite a bit of attention these days... from celebrity hoopers like Beyonce Knowles and Gweneth Paltrow to national recognition as one of the hottest, new fitness sensations. While hoop dance is still considered a relatively new art form for many, there are some who have been singing its praise for quite some time. In fact, a full length documentary has been in the works for more than three years, and it's scheduled to hit theatres in 2008.
"The Hooping Life" portrays the evolution of the hula hoop and profiles a diverse mix of hoop dancers. Of those featured, hooper extrodinare, Christabel Zamor, shines as a revolutionary of this exotic performance art. Click here for a sneak peak:
